Lines Third At Fremont
Author : Redline Media
The American Sprintcar racing trip of Steve Lines continued over the weekend when he took to the tracks of Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park and it resulted in a third place finish at Fremont Speedway.
In what was a hard charging drive, Lines, aboard the # 70 Pete Grove owned J&J, was able to earn his third place on the podium at Fremont Speedway on Saturday night after he had worked his way through the field from his position nine starting spot.
“We had a really good car for the feature race and we were a bit unlucky not to have finished a bit higher,” expressed Lines, who had earlier in the night qualified fifth in time trials and then finished fifth again in his heat race. “The track earlier in the night was pretty tough and it made it hard to pass, so we put a heap of stagger on the car for the feature race and it allowed us to move forward and come away with a podium result.”
Last Friday night Lines competed at Attica Raceway Park, a track where he had previously competed at back in 2008, and it was a tough night although it had started off in the best possible fashion. Lines blasted to victory in his heat race after he had started from outside the front row and that earned him a position 12 starting spot for the feature race. In the feature race the going was a little tough for Lines, which saw him spin out during the latter stages while placed just outside the Top 10, and he finished back in 13th place.
This coming weekend Lines will return to Attica Raceway Park (Attica, OH) on the Friday night (July 30) and then Fremont Speedway (Fremont, OH) on the Saturday night (July 31).
