Lines Begins Trip With The World Of Outlaws
Author : Redline Media
Two of the biggest annual Sprintcar events in the World are without a doubt the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, OH) and the Don Martin Memorial at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, PA) and last weekend Steve lines contested both events to begin his American racing trip.
Although it was always going to be an almighty task to debut strongly up against the World of Outlaws around the daunting Eldora Speedway, Lines, who is driving Pete Grove owned # 70 J&J, was able to finish the weekend pleased with his efforts.
“I always knew that it was going to be tough to contest the Kings Royal in our first outing since arriving over here but we managed to come away happy that we had picked up more speed by the end of the weekend,” commented Lines. “Eldora Speedway is an awesome track and I have raced there once previously during my last visit, but the Kings Royal is a completely different ball game and it was a great experience.”
Last Tuesday night Lines headed to Lernerville Speedway with the World of Outlaws circus for the annual Don Martin Memorial and once again progress was made.
“The goal for the night was to just make the twin feature races and anything after that was going to be a bonus,” said Lines, who had earlier in the night qualified 20th in time trials out of 39 cars, followed by running sixth in his heat race and then transferred into the feature race via a third place finish in the B-main. “We were a little bit tight in the first feature race and during the race we suffered a break in the steering and that put us out. Due to the steering damage to the opening feature race we weren’t able to make it out for the second feature race.”
This Friday night Lines heads to Attica Raceway Park (Attica, OH) for a local show and then on Saturday night he will compete at Fremont Speedway (Fremont, OH) for the Mike Holman Memorial.
